Chapter Nineteen

Vaju screamed as the floor opened up beneath her. The ooze fell down into the pit trap and hit below with a squish splat. She didn’t die, though. She was an ooze. Her annoyed shouts echoed up from the pit.

“I’m stuck down here, Lord Munjan,” she said in annoyance. “And the spikes are disgustingly dirty.”

“Sorry,” Munjan said. “We’ll come back for you later. We have to keep moving.”

“I’ll try to get out and catch up,” said Vaju, sounding more than a little miffed.

Munjan did not blame her. When he passed the pit trap, he could see her sliding tentacles over the wall, searching for places to grip it and drag herself out. He sighed, wishing to take her, too. He had lost a lot of monster girls.

Caza was at the front, the hellhound sniffing at the dungeon floor. Her tail wagged behind her as she led the way. She took them down a few turns and finally to a door. It had to be broken down. It revealed a very dark room.

“Brilliant and revealing, let the light of Lord Shamash float!”

Illuminate produced a small ball of light that barely showed anything. The monster girls headed slowly into the room. His eyes flicked around as he crossed over. Melin and Tira behind him. The burning swords of the asura and the light from Chervonyy the choir did not push back the darkness much at all.

“This isn’t natural,” Melin said.

The door behind them boomed shut.

From the darkness, a purple-skinned woman with a shadowy blade attacked from the right while a pale-skinned woman with four arms each gripping a curving, metal scimitar, struck from the left. A fomorian and a hysminai.

Sayf’s companions.

Vina hissed before the fomorian’s blade lopped off the maenad’s head. She vanished in a blast of motes. Mondata the cockatrice opened her mouth to scream, but the hysminai’s four blades hacked her to pieces. The chunks vanished a heartbeat later.

“I got her!” Tira shouted, her four burning blades crackling as she attacked the hysminai.

Their swords clashed as Nevmas, the other cockatrice, screeched. Her sonic attack struck the fomorian. She staggered but her sword flowed into a spear with the reach to ram into Nevmas’s open mouth and cut off her voice.

Saule the will o’ wisp fired a blast of lightning that the fomorian dodged. She formed her spear into a javelin that she flung. It took the crackling will o’ wisp in the chest. The swirling plasma of her body burst apart.

“Lightning crackle and hiss, gird me in the love of Lady Uttu!” snarled Munjan, feeling like an idiot for not re-casting Static Aura.

“Urudu Ib-Ur!” Melin cried. A metal shield appeared before Munjan, blocking another javelin throw from the fomorian.

“That’s my kick-ass boyfriend!” Plamena roared and charged the fomorian, her burning blades crackling. “Bitch!”

Tira died to Munjan’s shock. He whipped his head around to see the hysminai already leaping through the glowing motes that marked the asura’s life. She rushed at Talasa, but the selkie stood ready. She breathed water. It hurtled at the Metal monster girl.

The hysminai, despite wearing a breastplate and metal panties, dodged the water and cut Munjan’s selkie in half. Munjan blinked off his shock as the hysminai charged at him. A spell popped into his mind. Flame Lash.

“Whip and crack, let the lash of Lord Gibil strike!”

The flame struck her armor and her face. The hysminai snarled in pain but kept charging at him. Chervonyy the choir jumped in her way, light bursting from her. The hysminai moved so fast, ducking the attack and hacking down the choir.

“Sum Gidim!”

Melin’s spectral scythe slashed in from the side. She raised her sword to parry it, but the deathly weapon passed through her blade, her armor, and her body. She staggered, shock on her face, then she became motes, dead.

Munjan panted for relief.

Plamena battled the fomorian. The purple-skinned monster girl swept her shadowy blade, blocking all four of Plamena’s burning swords. It was an impressive battle. Munjan watched it in awe, lights flickering.

Caza the hellhound stalked behind the two fighting monster girls and jumped. She landed on the fomorian’s back. The purple-skinned enemy formed a dagger in her left hand and stabbed it over her shoulder, plunging into Caza’s eye and killing her.

Plamena took advantage of the opening and buried two of her burning blades into the fomorian’s belly while the other two swords blocked the fomorian’s counterattack. The Dark monster girl staggered back and vanished into multi-hued sparkles.

“Damn,” Munjan said, looking around. He had Melin and Plamena. The rest of his monster girls had fallen. “Damn, that was close.”

“Should we retreat?” Melin asked.

“No way,” Plamena said. “We have the initiative. He just lost his two companions. He’s got nothing left. Let’s take him.”

Munjan grinned. “Let’s finish this!”

She whooped and darted across the room.

“He might have another companion,” Melin said. “We didn’t see multiple types of Level 1 monster girls. Just the standard Dark and Metal.”

“I’ll kill her,” Plamena said, sweeping her burning blades around her. “Go, team, go!”

Munjan nodded and followed her across the room, Melin hurrying to catch up. At the far end was another door. They opened it and stepped into the throne room itself. Pillars held up the ceiling high above, each one of them carved into a different voluptuous woman.

“That’s Nina Naughty,” said Melin, pointing at one.

“They’re porn stars,” said Munjan, glancing around at them. “Very good taste. Nina Naughty, Aurora Snow, Riley Reid, Skin Diamond, Demi Delia, Kitty Delight, Mia Khalifa, Carli Cox, Eva Angelina, Hitomi J-Cup, Mercedes Carrera. My, my, I like your tastes.”

“Thanks,” said the man at the far end. He carried a curved dagger dripping in shadows. He held a shield in the other hand and wore armor. He had the appearance of a warrior, his skin dusky. An Arab man. A Bedouin warrior. “I always did love Western whores. Such beauties to be lusted for.”

“Absolutely,” Munjan said, a big smile on his face. “I prefer cheerleaders myself.”

“Ah, those are delicious,” Sayf said and raised his blade in a salute. “May your death be swift.”

“Wow, I really don’t have something like that prepared.” Munjan rolled his shoulders. “I should. That sounds bad-ass.”

The enemy builder raised his shield, the dagger dripping in shadows. Metal and Dark. Munjan had to be careful. The man had higher-level magics, but he was outnumbered. His Dark companion and Metal companion were dead, but he still had Intermediate Magic.

Plamena launched forward, her four blazing swords crackling as they swept through the air. She slammed them into his shield. Sparks flared with each blow. Sayf hid behind his shields, the air ringing with attacks.

Shadows moved behind Plamena. Then a woman was there, slender with hoofed feet and skin as black as night. Her hair was the same hue, but glossy. She stabbed Plamena in the back with a dagger. Munjan gasped as his asura screamed.

“Bitch!” screamed Plamena. She spun about, but the slender woman vanished into the shadows. Plamena’s blades missed. She staggered. Sayf slashed, finishing her off.

Plamena burst into sparks. Just Munjan and Melin.

Sayf laughed in delight as the motes fell. “Now it is an even fight. Kitty is such a delight.”

“She’s a baku,” muttered Melin.

“You made Kitty Delight into a companion?” Munjan asked. “You have real style. I like it.”

“I am glad you approve,” said Sayf before he burst into a charge at them.

“Sum Gidim!” Melin shouted.

A spectral scythe slammed into Sayf’s armor and broke apart on the metal.

“Spark of lightning, crackle of electricity, let the wrath of Lord Enlil explode!”

Lightning Spear hurtled from Munjan at the enemy builder. Sayf raised his shield and blocked. The spell burst apart against it. The sparks sizzled through the air, momentarily dazzling Munjan. Sayf burst through them and slashed with his dagger. The blade would have cut Munjan down.

Static Aura triggered.

“Whore’s son!” snarled Sayf as he leaped back, more sparks sizzling around him.

“E-Ur Gaz!” bellowed Melin and Sayf’s armor rang. Something changed about it. The metal grew dull. It looked brittle. Cracks radiated out through it. Melin was proficient with Metal and Death.

Did he weaken the armor? thought Munjan as Sayf snarled.

The enemy slashed at Melin with the shadowy dagger.

Melin twisted back, trained by Vern and Halia. The blade missed his heart as Munjan found another spell to use, Blazing Breath.

“A gout of flame, let the breath of Lord Gibil burn!”

Fire belched out of Munjan’s mouth. The gout of flames slammed into Sayf. He cursed and darted away, so fast in his armor. Chunks of the armor broke off, crashing to the ground, the flames weakening it and revealing dusky skin beneath.

The man was naked beneath.

“How do you use magic?” demanded Sayf of the wizard. “Tell me how!”

Melin opened his mouth, but it was a distraction as Sayf instantly launched into a spell.

“The thick night falls, let the enmity of Lord Zuen smother!”

Munjan recognized the spell as Night Smother. Shadows engulfed Melin. It would slowly kill his friend. Fear washed through Munjan. He could not lose Melin. They were like brothers now.

“Gi Il!” Melin roared. That must be Endure Pain.

It was a dangerous thing to do. It wouldn’t save his life, but just keep him from being overwhelmed by the pain. Munjan had to finish this now. That thought raced through his mind as shadows shifted nearby.

The baku.

“A gout of flame, let the breath of Lord Gibil burn!” he roared and breathed fire at the spot.

As Kitty Delight emerged from the shadows, the slender and petite porn star famous for her playful demeanor, screamed as the fire washed around her. She reeled back on fire. As she burned, Sayf attacked, rushing in and slashing at Munjan as he exhaled the last of the flames.

He turned, but not in time.

“Urudu Ib-Ur!” Melin roared, his voice thick with pain.

A metal shield appeared between Munjan and Sayf, blocking the dagger. The shield vanished as Sayf reeled from the sudden block. Munjan shot his hand out, seizing the moment. A piece of the breastplate was missing. A bare, muscular chest exposed.

His hand fell on his enemy’s bare flesh.

“Sizzling touch, the spark of pain, let the prowess of Lord Enlil stun!”

Stunning Touch discharged into the enemy builder. Sayf collapsed onto his back, spasming. Stunned, but not dead. Night Smother still devoured Melin. Munjan had no time to hesitate. His enemy groaned, struggling to recover.

“Hammer concusses, let the might of Lord Ishkur deafen!”

Thunder Hammer slammed down on Sayf’s head, shattering the brittle helmet and crushing his skull. The darkness around Melin vanished. The mage collapsed to his knees, panting and trembling. Power rushed into Munjan. His chest burned as two new glyphs, Darkness and Metal, burned into him.
Munjan didn’t care. He rushed to Melin, crying out, “Will you live?”

“Yes,” Melin groaned.

Munjan extended his hand and pulled Melin to his feet. As he did, the builder sent to Leo, “Sayf is dead.”

“Good,” Leo said. “Good work. And Melin?”

“He’s alive, too,” Munjan said. “We’re both alive!”

“We won!” Melin said, joy in his eyes.

Laughing, the two embraced like brothers. Munjan slapped his hands on his friend’s back while he looked around at the decorations. At all the porn stars. He stopped at the slender form of Kitty Delight wondering if she would join him.

It would be hot to have his own porn star.

Melin broke the hug. He leaned on Munjan, his body obviously weakened, and said, “These are porn stars.”

“The best of the best,” said Melin. “He has great taste. Shame I want to have a complete squad of cheerleaders, or I’d summon some.”

“Maybe you got two of them,” said Melin. “That’s the baku, right.” He pointed to Kitty’s column.
“Yeah, but that hysminai that we fought didn’t look like any of these ladies,” Munjan said. “Maybe he picked someone he knew in real life for his first companion.”

“First?” Melin blinked. “Right, right, the fomorian must be a companion he claimed.” Then Melin groaned, sagging into him. “We have to walk back to the dungeon alone.”

“There’s still one ooze alive,” Munjan said, “but it’s still a bitch.”

They laughed again as they staggered out of Sayf’s dungeon.

“He barely used any magic,” said Munjan. “He wanted to fight like warriors, but we didn’t play fair at all.”

“There’s nothing fair in what we are doing. Nothing fair at all. We’re here to win for Lord Leo’s sake and for the world. He thought this was a game. It is not.”

Munjan nodded. He had to remember those words. And he had to redecorate his dungeon. Sayf had style.

Chapter Twenty

Garnet flew over the elven city of Ushaenamilia. It was much smaller than the capital and full of trees. They were planted around their graceful homes. However, many of them were stomps. Others were being cut down by the elves. They were fashioning a wall around the city out of the lumber.

Even though it was night, the elves were working beneath torchlight under the guard of monster girls. There seemed to be five main work gangs each watched over by a different type of monster girl: rock elementals, carbuncles, lemure, satyr, and wildhounds.

Two of them were Earth monster girls, the rock elementals and carbuncles. The latter, Garnet realized, had come from a companion who had refused to serve him. She didn’t see any monster girls outside of Earth, Death, Life, and Dark. The four elements that Todlicht the Glowing Specter possessed.

That heartened Garnet.

In the center of town, a tower rose in the air. A sinister structure with wide open doors at the bottom that had two massive bears and a pair of ghosts guarding it. At the top of the tower, another succubus was whipping elves. She was cracking her shadowy whip down on them and laughing.

Laughing.

Garnet did not like her, and not just because she had bigger boobs.

Patrols moved through the city, too. Todlicht was paranoid or worried about rebellion. A translucent woman with a pale-blue body and black hair that formed a cloak led more of the ghosts on one patrol. Garnet did not recognize what type of monster girl she was.

Another monster girl with rich-brown skin and large breasts led a pack of werebears. The companion had golden hair with dog-like ears peeking out and golden wings. Another bizarre monster girl Garnet didn’t recognize.

At least she knew what sort of creature led the third patrol. A gorgon with a sinuous body, her skin light-green. She had snakes for hair that hissed and snapped at each other. She led a patrol of basilisks about, blue-scaled just like the ones her big brother possessed.

The fourth patrol was led by another strange monster girl. She looked sort of like a unicorn, but her body was as black as night. She had white hair and tail and big breasts. She led the arachnes who scuttled from rooftop to rooftop.

She saw no sign of the builder nor of any Level 3 Monster Girls. That didn’t mean they weren’t hiding in his dungeon. Still, her big brother could handle Todlicht. He was an amazing man. Garnet smiled in delight and flew really, really high.

The air grew sharp. The ground was far away from her. She folded her wings and fell, eager to be back in her big brother’s arms. The air rushed around her body. Her black pigtails whipped behind her as the ground hurtled closer and closer.

She had no fear.

“Revive me, big bro!”

She slammed into the ground and died.

She felt nothing. It happened so fast, then she was being hugged by Souleen. Safe and sound in the Void. She would sleep here until her big brother called upon her. Then she would fly into his arms and be loved by him.

“Garnet, the Idiot, appear.”

Indignation shot through Garnet as she spun out of the Void and appeared in his Vault. He released his black gem as she put her hands on her hips. Her crimson wings spread wide while her tail swished back and forth.

“So mean, Big Bro!” she gasped. “Idiot!”

“Why did you kill yourself?” her big brother asked, shaking his head.

“To get back here faster, d’oh!” She squealed and threw herself at him. “To do this!”

Her arms flew around his neck and she kissed him. Her lips melted to his as she pressed her body against her big brother’s. She was so happy to be his. To be his little sister. Her tail swished happily behind her as she made out with him.

He broke the kiss and shook his head. “I stand by my nickname, oh Garnet the Idiot, Queen of the Dummies, and Empress of the Moronic.”

“Ooh!” Her cheeks puffed out with her anger. “You’re going to pay for that! I’m Lady Big Perv Garnet, Mistress of Horniness, Queen of Depravity, and Empress of Kinkiness.”

“Right, right, I forgot, Mistress of Stupidity.” He grinned at her.

She bounced beside him, so mad while he laughed. Which made her smile. How could she stay mad at her big brother? The answer was simple. She couldn’t! Not one bit. She could not stay mad at him. Her big brother was just too amazing. She was more than happy to be by his side.

More than thrilled to be with him.

They headed out of the Vault, through the living area, and into the meeting hall. All the other companions where here that Leo owned. Claimed and summoned. Maya was sitting at her spot on Leo’s right. Garnet’s seat on his left was open. She broke from him and took it.

Leo sat and nodded to Garnet.

She gave her report on the work gangs and the patrols. She mentioned the succubus on the Spire and the open doorway guarded lightly by a pair of werebears and ghosts. When she mentioned what the work gangs were doing, Fara’s ears drooped.

“Cutting down trees?” Disgust spilled over the elf’s face.

Garnet understood. They were such beautiful trees.

“So we have a shade with the ghosts in the north part of the city,” said Hagane when Garnet finished her report. “A simurgh with the werebears.”

“Dog ears and eagle wings,” Garnet said, glad to know what it was. “That’s a weird one.”

“Ooh, she sounds neat,” said Alizee, the sylph grinning. “I hope she joins you, Leo.”

“A puppy!” Garnet hugged Isatu sitting next to her, her hand stroking through Isatu’s black hair. “Like our dragon puppy.”

“I’m the only puppy,” Isatu protested. “Lord Leo, let me become a dragon and burn them all especially this mangy dog!”

“We want to save the town,” Agubnamus said, her voice calm and deep. “Besides, our Lord is worried about the wind dragon. We will be returned to our post beneath the city.”

Her big brother nodded. He still had his monster girls in position beneath Verianithila.

“Yes, I am very worried about the wind dragon,” Leo said. “Isatu, I need you ready to deal with her.”

“I will, Lord Leo,” the fire dragon said with all the eagerness of a puppy. She was adorable. Garnet was glad that her big brother had woken her up from her slumber and tamed the poor thing. Isatu had spent thousands of years alone in the dungeon of her father with only her parents’ bones for company.
“I say we do a frontal assault,” said Terra. “We know where the dungeon entrance lies. He has level one and two monster girls in the streets. We attack the dungeon directly.”

Garnet loved it. Her wings fluttered in delight.

“They can come in behind us,” Hagane said. “We would be trapped in a pincer in the dungeon itself of which we possess no intelligence about its properties. We do not know what is in there.”

“Not if Leo shoves the entrance of his dungeon right against the spire’s.” Terra grinned. “Then they can’t get in.”

“The ghosts can,” said Morana. “And the shade.”

“But not the rest,” Maya said, glancing at Leo. “You take the twelve of us in, and we mop the floor with this loser. At best, he is Level 3. You’re Level 4 and have way more elements. He’s provided us with a front door to his dungeon. The idiot doesn’t think we can attack him. He’s not smart.”

“And the people?” Leo asked.

“He’s not killing anyone at the moment,” Nina Naughty said. “We don’t have a city population to save from imminent execution. We have the advantage here.”

“Yes, we do,” Crystal said.

“It is a risky plan,” Hagane said.

“A bold one!” Alizee bounced up and down. “I like it! Go for the big win!”

“It has a charming simplicity,” Mom said. She flashed Leo a supportive smile.

“I like it,” Ms. Trueno added. “With the bulk of his forces outside, he’ll have a lightly defended dungeon. Maybe he’ll have Level 3 monster girls, but he’ll have less of them in his dungeon. He has a lot of Level 1 and Level 2 monster girls outside along with a good deal of his companions. I’m sure he’ll have more, but we know that a carbuncle didn’t serve him. Maybe he only has two extra companions. That doesn’t sound hard at all.”

“Why make it a fair fight?” Nina Naughty asked, an evil smile on her lips.

“Yes, and this way, we minimize risk to the elvish citizens,” Crystal said. Garnet’s big sister wore an equally evil smile.

“Always a noble goal, Dark Lord,” Morana said.

Hagane nodded slowly.

“I like it,” Baaghi said.

Smerta nodded and Bjorni grinned with that bear-like muzzle of hers.

“I like this plan,” Usiku said.

“It’sssss a good one, Massster,” hissed Paanee.

Leo glanced at Garnet. “It’s wide open?”

“Wide open.” She smiled and threw her arms wide, so glad that she did an amazing job on her scouting. “Just two werebears and two ghosts guarding it. So easy to take out.
Leo rubbed at his chin.

“Let’s do it, dirty boy,” purred Crystal.

“We’ll keep an eye on the Wind Temple and the potential dragon,” said Smerta. “Take your summoned companions, and kill Todlicht.”

“Yes, yes, yes!” Garnet squealed, her entire body trembling with delight.

“Munjan and Siwang have finished their tasks,” Leo said. “They’re heading back to the dungeon now.”

“Do you want me backing you up?” Kassie asked.v
“Or us?” Akiz asked.

“You stay in position in the city. Kassie and Hagza, if things go badly in the dungeon, you’ll be bringing us reinforcements,” Leo said.

“So smart, Master Big Bro!” Garnet bounced up and down. She was so eager for this plan.

Chapter Twenty-One

I wasted no time. Siwang and Munjan were back inside the dungeon. They both had suffered casualties, but they had conquered the enemy. I had hoped Siwang might have recruited his target, but it didn’t work out. He was already coordinating the return of the food to the villages.

A good man.

I made my preparations for the assault. I had my dungeon just out of the city. I used my ghosts to extend my dungeon toward his. I could feel it. An impassable space that I couldn’t enter. Forbidden Territory. It was concerning.

Just as Todlicht couldn’t feel that my dungeon was moving around his, I couldn’t feel the same. I had been nearly killed by dwarves mining from Led’s dungeon into mine. A brilliant idea I had stolen and used to defeat Tuerien.

A scary plan that I never wanted anyone else to think about.

“Get ready,” I sent to my monster girls.

I shoved my dungeon entrance against the spire. My ghosts assured me I was right against the entrance. I made the final preparations and shoved up my dungeon against his. I created a door that would lead straight into his territory.

This could backfire immensely.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nina Naughty waited with the others. “Get ready.”
The devil grinned and formed her pitchfork. Suddenly, the stone wall before her became a doorway that revealed another entrance. It was pitch black in Todlicht’s territory. The stone that she could see was a blackish red like it was impregnated with blood. She rolled her eyes at how edgelord it felt.
Two ghosts burst through the walls of Leo’s dungeon, rushing at them. She threw her pitchfork and struck the ghost on the right. She burst into motes. Lightning exploded from Lana Fulmine’s wings and hit the other on the left.
Howls erupted from the dungeon interior. The baying of wolves.
“He does have Level 3 Monster girls,” Nina sent Leo and formed another pitchfork. A wicked grin spread on the porn star’s lips. This would be a wild night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Terra moved up to the entrance with Hagane and Ms. Trueno. The golem formed her fists into hammers, ready to beat down the werewolves that rushed out of the darkness at them. Hagane’s arms became deadly blades, the slender girl ready to fight. Ms. Trueno drew in a deep breath.

The thunder sprite screamed.

The air rippled before her as the werewolves leaped out of the darkness. The lead one was ripped apart by the screams, bursting into motes. The others rushed past it. Terra was ready and slammed her hammer fist down on the skull of the next.

She crushed the head and threw the body to the ground. The werewolf snarled in pain before she vanished into sparkles. Hagane thrust out her armblade, ramming it down a third werewolf’s throat. It burst out the side of the neck in a spray of blood.

As she died, another werewolf struck Hagane, leaping through the motes of the dying monster girl. The werewolf struck Hagane, throwing her onto the ground. Horrible screeches of tooth on metal hurt Terra’s ears.

The golem swung at another werewolf. The creature ducked low and bit into her soft belly. The teeth savaged her. Terra snarled at the pain as chunks of her clay flesh were ripped away by the enemy and devoured, weakening the golem.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Terra shouted in pain as the werewolf ripped at her. Morana rushed forward, mist spilling off the banshee. Ms. Trueno shouted again, hitting another werewolf. But one darted low and struck the thunder sprite in the leg, biting at her scales. With a jerk, she was yanked off her feet.
Morana reached the fight and unleashed her deathly wail at the werewolves charging out of the dungeon. There were so many of them. Her shriek burst from her lungs and killed two of the enemy werewolves leaping to kill.
Ms. Trueno thrashed on the ground, the one still savaging her leg. Hagane thrust her armblade up, killing the one on her. Terra screamed on the ground. Morana was ready to show these enemy monster girls how they protected their lord.
“For the Dark Lord!” Morana shouted, Crystal rushing up beside her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Crystal rushed up beside Morana and threw an ice dagger, taking the werewolf savaging Ms. Trueno’s leg in the eye. The werewolf screamed and vanished into motes. Light flashed from Mrs. Lucina’s halo, cutting down the werewolf ripping at Terra’s guts.

The bitch yelped and vanished in sparkles.

More werewolves were rushing at them. Crystal threw another blade, catching one in the open mouth. Hagane rose and slashed with her armblade, ripping into another’s neck. Blades of Wind whipped past Crystal along with a flaming pitchfork, killing more of the werewolves.

Garnet leaped over Crystal, the succubus’s wings flapping. She glided over the melee and landed in the dungeon. Terra crushed another werewolf in the head. Hagane finished off her latest opponent. Garnet landed and spun around, throwing her arms wide.

“I claim this dungeon for Dark Lord Big Bro!” she declared.

A werewolf leaped out of the shadows behind her. Crystal formed a dagger and threw it. The blade hit the bitch but not before the furred monster girl slammed into Garnet’s back, slamming the idiot to the ground.

If you die because of this, I’m going to spank your ass after Leo revives you, thought Crystal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Garnet gasped as the werewolf slammed her to the ground. She screamed in a panic. She didn’t want to die before this even got started. Drool spilled hot on the back of her neck. She formed a dildo to stab the monster girl in the eye.
Water surged over her head and engulfed the werewolf. The beast snarled and thrashed, engulfed by Maya. Garnet let out a sigh of relief. Crystal was watching, shaking her head. Nina rolled her eyes at Garnet’s actions.
“What?” Garnet asked.
“That was so awesome!” Alizee squealed. “You are so brave!”
“She serves the Dark Lord,” Morana said while the werewolf thrashed in Maya’s embrace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Idiot,” Maya muttered as she drowned the werewolf.

She was not a fan of killing werewolves like this. Or any monster girl, for that matter. It never sat well with her. She could feel the poor monster girl thrashing. Mrs. Baldwin strangled another werewolf with her roots. One that had gotten past the others.

Light from Mrs. Lucina’s halo and Lightning from Lana Fulmine’s wings crackled over Maya’s head. Another werewolf lurking in the dark went down. They had not been ready for an attack. They had charged piecemeal to their deaths.

“Foolish tactics,” Hagane said, her belly scratched up.

The werewolf died in Maya. The body vanished, leaving behind a cavity that her watery flesh filled. It sent waves rippling through her body as she reshaped herself into her girlish form. She stood, surveying the sight.

None of Leo’s monster girls had died, but Terra and Ms. Trueno were injured.

Leo appeared from up the stairs and looked about. “What did I miss?”

Chapter Twenty-Two

“Graven wounds pulse in pain, let the healing of Lord Dumazid flow!” I chanted and sent the healing spell into Terra’s stomach.

The clay that had been ripped from her flowed back into place. Something about the gray hue of her skin grew more… healthy. She smiled at me, nodding. I glanced over at Ms. Trueno and placed my hand on her leg.

“Graven wounds pulse in pain, let the healing of Lord Dumazid flow!” The chunk of flesh missing of her thigh grew, her scales washing over them.

“Don’t forget to buff yourself, Leo,” Maya said from the entrance of the dungeon, preventing Todlicht from manipulating it. “There are Level 3 monster girls. This man may be more powerful than we thought.”

I smiled at her. “You’re right.

“Strong and unyielding, let the granite of Lady Ki enhance!”

Strength of Mountains.

“Life energizes and enervates, let the grace of Lady Ianna empower!”

Revitalize.

“Lightning crackle and hiss, gird me in the love of Lady Uttu!”

Static Aura.

“Incarnation of flames, let the passion of Lady Lamashtu embrace!”

Flamebody.

“Positive energy flows, let the passion of Lady Ianna spread!”

Healing Aura.

The scratches on Hagane’s torso vanished. Garnet flapped her wings and smiled. She had some claw wounds from being tackled by the werewolf. That was the nice thing about that spell. I rolled my shoulders and decided on a new one.

“Darkness flows, let the shadows of Lady Ninazu bleed!”

“Ooh, what is that one?” Garnet asked. “It must be awesome since it’s Dark!”

“Dark Blood,” I told her. “It replaces my blood with corrosive shadows. Enemies who hurt me with melee attacks will pay.”

“Perfect,” Alizee said. “That’s our champ! You’re going to lead us to victory!”

“How shall we proceed?” Hagane asked.

I surveyed my twelve companions. For a moment, I looked for Halia among them, but… I pushed down that pain. She had moved on to a better place. Instead, I studied the others that were with me. I nodded to them.

“Lana, Terra, Hagane, and Ms. Trueno, you have point,” I commanded. Lana would provide good range with her lightning while Hagane and Terra were the most melee of my monster girls and Ms. Trueno’s shouts were powerful. “Maya, Garnet, Mom, you’re with me.” I wanted to keep Garnet out of danger while Maya and my mother provided good protection. “Mrs. Lucina, Nina, Alizee, Morana, and Crystal have the rear.” Good range attacks. They could support from behind, and when we got attacked from the back by the ghosts and the shade, Morana would be immune to their attacks.

Well, the ghosts’ attacks. No idea on the capabilities of the shade.

“Then let us press on,” Hagane said and marched into the enemy dungeon past Maya.

Terra flashed me a grin and Ms. Trueno nodded. Lana Fulmine kissed me on the cheek, her body crackling with static before she headed into the dungeon. Maya turned and slapped her ass before following them.

“Come on, big perv,” she said, “you know what you like to walk behind.”

Garnet giggled, taking my arm. Mom was on the other side of me, walking with willowy grace. I headed inside the dungeon, passing from my territory to the enemy’s. I wasn’t particularly concerned if any of his monster girls entered my dungeon. It was miles and miles of tunnels before they found anything of interest.

The darkness pressed down on us at once so I cast Illuminate. “Brilliant and revealing, let the light of Lord Shamash float!”

The light flowed forward moving with Hagane. I cast it two more times, making a ball of light for each group.

Hagane scanned the ground for traps. That was another reason her group was a good twenty feet behind her just in case she set something off. It wouldn’t take us all out. Maybe I should have brought my wildhounds, they were good at that, but…

I had them in position in the city.

Hagane found the first trap. An arrow trap. Very basic. She disarmed a pit trap next then found a nasty thing.

“A death trap,” she said. “It would leach the life from any living monster girl that stepped on it. Or human.”

“Todlicht lives up to his name,” said Crystal.

“His name is Death Light,” said Nina. “That’s what it means in German. Where is the light?”

“Maybe it’s a light that only the dead can see,” Alizee said. “Can you see, Morana?”

“No. This gloom is too much even for my everlasting gaze.” Morana let out a mournful sigh. “I am sorry, Dark Lord, that my vision has failed you.”

I smiled. “I’ll have to spank you later.”

“Such a flirt,” Maya said, shaking her head as we pressed deeper into the dungeon. “Just staring at my ass and turning Morana on. We’re in a dungeon, big perv. Focus.”

“You’re the one swaying that rippling ass,” I said as she sauntered before me.

It was good to smile when the tension mounted. Todlicht would have surprises. I should have just overwhelmed him with monster girls, but that wind dragon worried me. If the priests decided to launch a coup against the king for making an alliance with me…

I didn’t know who had the power to free the wind dragon. Maybe she was under the king’s control like in Myreman, but one data point, as Hagane would say, didn’t prove anything. I needed more information about how these dragons were positioned.

So my forces needed to say.

A second alarm blared through the dungeon. The first had been the fight for the entrance. Smerta expected that one, and she expected this one. She was in the throne room, watching the map. The valkyrie took her job as commander of the dungeon defenses seriously.

She would not let down Leo.

As she suspected, a dozen enemy monster girls had penetrated Leo’s dungeon near the exit into the enemy builder’s territory. They didn’t go into Todlicht’s dungeon, though. They were moving through Leo’s. They had already found the teleport room.

“Leo, the ghosts are invading your dungeon,” Smerta sent. “They are not heading in behind you.”

“No biggie,” Leo answered. “Let me know if they turn around.”

Smerta nodded, forgetting that he couldn’t see her. She kept her eyes on the red dots moving deeper into the dungeon. “Will do.”

She watched them, her eyes flicking to the teleport room. From there, Leo’s reinforcements would come. It was a vital spot that needed to be held. The ghosts had moved on, though. That was good. She rubbed at her chin.

“Kassie, be ready to send in reinforcements. There are ghosts in the dungeon. So watch out if you’re summoned.”

“Will be ready,” Kassie answered.

Hagane opened the door, her light spilling into a room. I sent that ball of light forward. It was a large room. Hagane ventured in first, searching the floors. The tension squeezed down on my heart. Big rooms like that were never a good thing, but I had a squad of companions.

They were equal to Level 4 monster girls.

My women had experience fighting great threats. Even Garnet had turned into an effective fighter.

“Trap,” Hagane said. “Darkness trap. It splashes corrosive shadows.”

“Lovely,” Crystal said from the back. “You should use some of those.”

“No one invades my dungeon any longer,” I said.

“Remember how annoying it was when the adventurers were constantly assaulting us?” Garnet asked. “Simpler days.”

I nodded in agreement.

Hagane pushed into the room, sweeping for traps. It was like soldiers following a minesweeper tank, following in its tracks to make sure they weren’t attacked. It was a risky thing to do. It worried me as I followed them into the room.

It was large. My eyes swept around it. The stones were the same black impregnated with red. Rough-hewn stones. I had seen the pattern in the Void Crystal. There were dozens of “styles” for builders to choose from. I wondered where they came from. These patterns. Had no builders innovated new designs.

Was that the same with monster girls? As new builders came in with legends from different parts of the world, they filled out the roster. The “slots” in the interface. How dependent was this world on my world? How connected were they?

Out of the shadows, leprechauns appeared. Short and mischievous monster girls with pale skin and red hair. Their round breasts jiggled as they thrust out their hands and threw shadows that swirled around us.

I cursed and flinched from one, driving me back a step. The shadows burst around me and…

Were harmless.

“Illusions!” I shouted. That was what leprechauns did. They used shadows to trick and deceive. “Watch your step!”

The leprechauns vanished as my monster girls counterattacked.

Alizee gasped at the shadows washing around her. She stepped back and ground her teeth. Leo called out his instructions as she swept her arms forward. Her white hair whipped behind her as her annoyance transformed into anger.

“Basic bitches!” she cried and threw out wind blades.

The leprechaun winked at her and vanished.

Pain burst in Alizee’s back. The sylph staggered from being stabbed. She whirled about, blood spilling down her back. She was ready to cut the leprechaun down who hit her. The Dark monster girl’s blade took Alizee in the throat.

Blood poured down her breasts.

She stepped back only to collapse.

Laughter echoed before her then Alizee was in the Void, being hugged by Souleen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Shit,” I snarled as Alizee collapsed and vanished in motes.
“Big bro!” screamed Garnet from nearby, in pain.
The leprechauns vanished again. They were all about in a room full of trap steps. I readied spells to cast as I scanned my mind around them. Healing energy poured off me. I hoped that would be enough as lightning and light flashed through the room. Burning pitchforks and icy daggers flew. Shouts echoed.
Did we get any of them?
Shadows… An idea blossomed in my mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ms. Trueno screamed at the leprechaun, but she vanished.

The teacher clenched her fists. One of her students had already died. Shadows burst before her. She turned her head and opened her mouth as another leprechaun appeared, knife slashing. The blade ripped through the thunder sprite’s guts.

She staggered beneath the pain and screamed.

Before the monster girl could flee, Ms. Trueno’s sonic attack struck. The leprechaun’s screams went unheard beneath the awful shriek. The attack tore the enemy apart. She vanished into motes. Ms. Trueno gasped, staggering beneath the pain of her wounds.

“Light burns, let the incandescence of Lord Shamash shine!”

A Light spell erupted from Leo. One she had never heard. It must be an Ultimate Light spell because the leprechauns nearby melted beneath the force of that light. Ms. Trueno collapsed to the ground, the life leaking out of her even with Leo’s aura washing over her.

She closed her eyes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Incandescent Burst consumed all the leprechauns. The light was so intense, it killed the enemy.
I should have cast it right away. Alizee would still be alive and with us. I spun about. Ms. Trueno was on the ground. She was badly hurt. I darted to her and grabbed her hand. I squeezed it, her eyes closed.
“Graven wounds pulse in pain, let—”
She vanished, the sparkles of her existence spilling around my hand now holding nothing. I ground my teeth together as I felt her spirit leaving. I rose to my feet. Garnet staggered toward me, holding her side. She smiled, though.
Healing Aura did its work.
“Leo, the Ghosts are heading your way,” Smerta reported.
“Great,” I muttered.
