Chapter Fifty-One

Caihong sang as Shui died in a blast of lightning.

Muyang jumped to her feet and blocked the red cap’s blows. They traded attacks, the dahu’s icy swords striking the red cap’s blade. Caihong directed her song at the lightning sprite. The monster girl gasped, her wings tucking around her body.

She staggered.

Baoshi fired a blast of light at the red cap. She dodged it.

Muyang’s sword buried into the monster girl’s throat. She burst into sparks, dying. Hope surged through Caihong. They could do this. They just had to kill the lightning sprite. She staggered. Baoshi focused on her.

An ice sprite burst into the door and threw an icy dagger.

Baoshi ducked it, her beam going wide, missing the lightning sprite.

The ice sprite’s next icy blade flashed through the air and took Caihong in the eye. She collapsed to the ground, spasming. Her song caught off. The world grew dark. Shouts echoed in the distance before she vanished into the Void.

Into the peaceful sleep, hugged by the Soul of the Void Crystal, the Sliver of the Incarnation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Muyang and Baoshi were all that were left of Siwang’s companions. The Hong Kong Actress tried not to feel that fear.
Leo will come. Just hold out.
She bounded on her cloven hoofs at the enemy ice sprite, slashing her swords to cut down a pair of gleaming daggers flung at her. The ice sprite formed new shards in her hands as Muyang swung to cut the enemy monster girl down.
Her icy swords struck the ice sprite’s daggers and shattered them. Surprise flickered on the enemy’s face before the actress’s swords cut through the enemy. Frozen blood spurted a pale red before she vanished into motes.
Lightning exploded.
The blast struck Muyang. She hit the ground, badly injured. A beam of red light shot at the lightning sprite. She ducked beneath it, her wings crackling, and sent a second blast shooting into the dahu’s body.
Muyang screamed before the Void engulfed her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“I’m sorry, Siwang,” Baoshi sent as she sent a second blast of red light at the lightning sprite.

The beam cut through the monster girl’s head. A smoking hole that rendered her into motes. Baoshi was alone. She wouldn’t last long as more monster girls were closing the distance. Siwang didn’t repair the damage, so something was still in there. Maybe a Level 1 they missed. An ooze hiding to keep the dungeon locked down.

She fired her beam out the hole at a naga. The monster girl ducked it low. A heartbeat later, a fairy swooped into view and flew through the hole blown in the tower. Her wand flicked and swished, sending light shooting at the carbuncle.

Baoshi dodged to the side, rolling. The garnet in her forehead glowed bright and shot a beam at the fairy, clipping one of her colorful wings. She screamed and belly-flopped hard. Baoshi focused the energy in her crystal.

The fairy burst into motes around the afterglow of the red beam.

As Baoshi rose, acidic spit struck her in the belly. She screamed in pain as the Naga slithered into the room, smiling. Baoshi landed on her side, the painful chemical devouring through her guts. She focused her beam.

The second blast struck her in the face, blinding her.

“I’m sorry!” she cried out to her master before the pain gave way to the peace of the Void. Perhaps she would never awaken from this dream.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Baoshi’s final cry echoed in Siwang’s mind as he stood on the top floor of his dungeon. They would be coming, and his Void Crystal was exposed.
He contemplated running, but if they found his Void Crystal, it would not matter.
He would fight here and hope he could take them.
“Strong and unyielding, let the granite of Lady Ki enhance!”
Strength of Mountains filled his body.
“Hard and enduring, let the rocks of Lady Ki defend!”
Granite Flesh hardened his skin and turned it into rock.
“Steel wards with unyielding strength, let the defense of Lady Nisaba protect!”
Metal Coat armored him in
“Life energizes and enervates, let the grace of Lady Ianna empower!”
Revitalize filled him with energy.
“Lightning crackle and hiss, gird me in the love of Lady Uttu!”
Static Aura crackled around him.
“Incarnation of flames, let the passion of Lady Lamashtu embrace!”
Flamebody turned his flesh into fire. He was stone and flames.
“Pain retreats, let the chill of Lady Ereshkigal sustain!”
Endure Pain was a dangerous spell because he wouldn’t feel pain and might miss injuries, but he would need everything.
“Positive energy flows, let the passion of Lady Ianna spread!”
Healing Aura would mend those wounds he might miss.
“I love you, Anji,” he sent to his wife as he heard the monster girls shouting below. They climbed to fight him.
He would make a stand. He would buy his friend time to save him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Siwang!”

Anji trembled, alone in their bedroom. She wept. The dungeon rang with alarm. The other monster girls were in a panic. They were too far away. It would take weeks of running to reach him. There was no magic circle. The mages were useless.

It was all up to Leo.

She rushed to the throne room where the claimed companions had gathered. They had the map moved to the tower. She dropped to her knees, watching the red dots moving through the first floor and heading to the second floor.

She clasped her hands tight and prayed to Lord Leo’s Goddesses. He had recovered eight of them. She prayed to the Lady of Light, of Water, of Life, of Ice, of Wind, of Earth, of Dark, and of Metal. To shine bright on him, to wash away his enemies, to strengthen his vigor, to freeze his attacker’s marrow, to surround him with sweet air, to shake the grounds beneath his foes’ feet, to smother the attackers in darkness, and to strengthen his arms for the fight to come.

She prayed with such desperation for her husband.

Chapter Fifty-Two

Something roared outside the tower. Siwang swallowed. Curiosity drove him to the roof. He had his spells. He rushed up the stairs and stared out at the ground. The monster girls were rushing toward the dungeon. In the sky, a white dragon with a blue belly circled above the outpost.

She saw him and dove.

He cursed and threw himself back down the stairs. He rolled as a blast of winter swept down the stairs, encasing them in ice. He came up in a crouch and swallowed. No, he had to make his stand here. He rolled his shoulders.

“He has an ice dragon, Leo,” he sent.

The dragon landed on the roof. Her claws scraped on it. She fired another blast of ice down the tower, missing him. She was ready for him. No retreat. That was fine with Siwang. He would hold his ground here.

He had to do more, though. He considered his spells.

“Shape of light and lies, let the creativity of Lord Shamash move!”

He used Lightweave to make an illusion of himself to distract them. He positioned it to the side then moved to the corner.

“Light can bend, let the lie of Lady Sherida hide!”

Bent Light turned him invisible. It would last until he attacked. Another minor edge. He needed to do this perfectly. He drew in a deep breath. What else should he do? He considered Fly. He didn’t have anywhere to fly to, but…

In case he needed it, he chanted, “Gentle winds, let the support of Lady Tiamat billow!”

He considered an Intermediate Water spell called Slick Flesh. He had never thought to use it, but it would make his burning body slippery if they did try to grapple him. He wanted to have this advantage!

“Slick and flowing, let the love of Lady Ninli protect!”

Water, Fire, and Earth were all on his body. It was a lot, but he didn’t care.

Lastly, he would use Stonemeld to escape. His Void Crystal was hidden. Hopefully, no one would think he was dumb enough to hide it here. They would press into the tunnels and waste time down there while he hid in the stones.

He rolled his shoulders, hearing the sounds rising beneath.

“Siwang, they’re in the floor beneath yours,” Anji sent, sounding terrified. “Ten of them, my beloved. My love is with you.”

He smiled and nodded. That was comforting.

The floor shook then the middle exploded. Stone struck the ceiling and rained down on the floor. Immediately, beams of white and red shot up through the opening and struck his floating illusion. It ripped through the decoy, making it fuzz.

The dust plummeted visibility. Figures moved. He didn’t expose himself. He wanted a clear shot. Another beam of light shot up through the dust, striking the ceiling over his head. A figure glowed in the thick dust.

Lightning crackled and shot out of the fume, striking Siwang.

Static Aura discharged, negating the attack.

“The power of the tide crushes, let the might of Lord Enki drown!” roared Siwang.

Tidal Wave swept out before him, clearing the dust and pouring down the hole in the floor and the stairs. Monster girls shouted. The glow was swept away. He doubted it would have killed any of them, but it would slow them down.

Better, he could see clearly.

Through the last of the water gurgling down the stairs, a naga swam. She burst out of the water, a blue serpent with a woman’s armless torso. She hissed and spat poison right at him. Tidal Wave had destroyed Bent Light. He was visible.

“Strong and durable, let the strength of Lord Nabu shield!” Siwang cast reflexively.

Metal Shield appeared in the air, striking the shield. It blocked the attack and vanished revealing another spit of acid. She spat twice in quick succession. This one struck Siwang’s breastplate. It melted through the metal, exposing the flames beneath.

“The breath of death kills, let the exhale of Lord Nergal slay!”

Spectral Breath engulfed her. She screamed and died screaming. Nine left.

“Behind you!” Anji screamed.

Blows struck his armor, ripping it open followed by a terrible cold that drowned out Revitalize for a moment. Healing Aura drew back the numbing pain. Siwang spat blood and spun around to find a blueish shade and a shadowy baku, her body entirely black. She could jump through shadows and the shade was like his wraith.

The baku vanished in the darkness as the shade lunged at him.

“Lightning arcs and sizzles, let the fury of Lord Enlil spread!”

Arching Chain struck the shade, bursting her into notes. It zapped to the right and struck the baku leaping out of the shadows at Siwang’s side. Shock crossed the assassin monster girl’s face before she died, the glimmering traces of her existence rained over him.

A blast of lightning hit him from the side, shooting up from the hole in the floor. Flamebody snuffed out. He stumbled from the attack as a lightning sprite and fairy soared up through the hole. A simurgh bounded up the stairs at the same time, snarling like a hound.

The fairy’s wand struck him, ripping through his damaged armor. Granite flesh held. Barely.

“Flames erupt, let the conflagration of Lord Gibil blaze!”

Fire Field engulfed the room. The fairy and lightning sprite snarled in pain. The simurgh howled with her agony. The flames parted, revealing them all badly burned but alive. They were healing thanks to the simurgh’s aura. The Life monster girl had her own natural healing aura.

The lightning sprite’s wings crackled and blasted him with electricity. His armor fell apart around him. He dodged to the right, a beam of fairy light grazing him. It punched through his Granite Flesh and damaged him.

He fell to the ground, not feeling the injury. He couldn’t even tell if Healing Aura was mending it fast enough. The fairy and lightning sprite focused on him, both injured. Still badly burned. They were healing, but…

“Flames erupt, let the conflagration of Lord Gibil blaze!”

A second Fire Field engulfed them, killing the three monster girls. The flames vanished to reveal a shesha slithering into view. The fire hadn’t hurt the red, snake-like monster girl. The cobra hood around her head flared wide as she spat fire at him.

“Strong and durable, let the strength of Lord Nabu shield!”

He stood behind Metal Shield. A sylph soared up through the hole, slashing blades of wind at him while a carbuncle followed the shesha into the room, her garnet flashing and shooting a beam of ruby light at him.

He dove down and rolled beneath it. It was growing crowded in the room as a fourth monster girl jumped up through the hole, her skin black. She possessed wings and a snake tail behind her. She landed, her eyes mirror black and reflecting Siwang’s bedraggled form.

“Hyoo! Hyoo!” she cried, the awful sound slamming pain into his ears.

A nue, he thought.

He clasped his hands over his ears, this pain reaching into his mind. Wind blades from the sylph struck him. They ripped through Granite Flesh and punched into his body. He didn’t feel it, but blood spurted from the wounds.

The carbuncle focused on him.

He was in trouble.

“Stone and flesh become one, let the love of Lady Ki meld!”

He merged into the floor with Stone Meld and dropped to the floor beneath. He landed, Healing Aura mending him. Shouts echoed from above. The awful screeching was lessened. He lay in a puddle, pushing himself up.

The sylph dived through the hole.

He was ready for her.

“Lightning arcs and sizzles, let the fury of Lord Enlil spread!”

Arching Chain struck her in the face and arched up into the hole. As she died, another monster girl screamed in pain. The nue dove down the stairs and rolled into view, the lightning blasting behind her. The shesha slithered down after her. So the carbuncle was dead.

“Hyoo! Hyoo!” screeched the nue.

The sound made him flinch just as the shesha spat flames. They hit him. He was on fire. He should be burning, but Endure Pain, Revitalize, and Healing Aura kept it from affecting him. He focused on the pair of them.

“The sharpness of ice cuts, let the razors of Lord Anshar slash!”

Razor Ice sent a torrent of sharp, frozen shards that cut them both down. Blood spurted from the nue and the shesha before they vanished into motes. Siwang panted on the ground, his flesh burned. He should be in agony.

He was alive.

The tower wasn’t clear, though. The alarm still blared in the back of his head.

“There are more monster girls flooding in,” Anji reported. “So many of them. It must be the Level One monster girls. They’re back, my beloved.”

Siwang heard them snarling below. He had to be ready for the fight.

“Graven wounds pulse in pain, let the healing of Lord Dumazid flow!” Siwang chanted and healed himself up.

He stood and began casting his buffs again. Granite Flesh, Flamebody, Static Aura, and Metalcoat. He would need them all. Fear rippled through him. The sound of the monster girls scrambling up grew louder and louder.

“Hurry, Leo,” Siwang sent as he embraced Anji’s love and prepared for his second stand.

Chapter Fifty-Three

“I’m coming,” I told him.

My monster girls rushed up the ramp to go to Siwang’s defense by squads. My companions led the groups of Level 4 monster girls into the thick. I just used the previously established squads we worked out for past events.

I glanced at my dragons who were nearby. “Agubnamus, you’re in charge of the dragons. Take to the air. There’s an ice dragon.”

“My Lord,” she said. The others nodded, Isatu looking so happy.

“Smerta,” I growled, glancing at my valkyrie. She normally stayed behind. Not today. “Lead any of the companions not in a squad. You’ll be the reserves.”

“Leo,” she said, nodding. She looked eager for the fight.

“We’re coming, Siwang,” I sent again. I would not lose my friend.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lana Fulmine led the way.
She burst out of the ground and took to the air on her lightning wings. They crackled as she gained height. The tower thrust up into the air a hundred or so yards away. The ice dragon perched on the roof, tail swishing off the sight. Level 1 monster girls rushed to the tower, streams of oozes, nagas, selkies, will o’ wisps, nekomata, raiju in their lion form, pookas, lemures, wraiths, sigbins, wendigos, valkyries, hellhounds, cherfus, asuras, sheshas, satyrs, pixies, djinns, sarimanoks, basilisks, and maenads. There were so many different varieties.
It was dizzying.
The actress pointed at the Level 1 monster girls. “Let’s go! Attack!”
“For Lord Leo!” the cherubim shouted as they dove.
Lightning exploded from their halos and Lana Fulmine’s wings, tearing into the melange of monster girls. The attacks killed dozens of them, ripping a hole in the line. The monster girls didn’t care. They charged forward, rushing toward the towers.
The lightning monster girls dove down on them as some of the enemy shot back. The attacks rose in the air at Lana Fulmine and the cherubim. They scatted and returned fire. The dragon on the tower roared.
The Battle of Outpost Metal had begun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Garnet and Squad Dark Hotties soared out of the dungeon. Lightning fell ahead on monster girls rushing along the ground. Garnet spotted a flight of pixies flying in like a flock of naked Tinkerbells, dust glittering in their wake.

“Let’s go!” she squealed. “For Dark Lord Big Bro!”

“For the Dark Lord!” The demons roared as they surged up at them.

The naughty succubus formed a net of shadows, a fun bit of BDSM gear, and flung it at a pixie. It struck her and tangled up her gossamer wings. She spun in the air, gasping as the world tumbled around her. She plunged for the ground below.

“That’s right!” Garnet squealed. “Let’s go, Squad Dark Hotties!”

The demons’ lashes struck other pixies, ripping at their delicate wings. They screamed as they plunged for the ground below and the bone-crunching impacts on the trampled plains. They attacked back with a blast of wind.

Garnet soared through them, her scarlet wings flapping. The dragon roared in the background and took off from the tower. It focused on the exit of the dungeon. It was going for her big brother. Garnet formed a dildo club as she flew back at the pixies.

“Dark Lord Big Bro, ice dragon inbound,” Garnet reported and swung the club, braining the monster girl.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“The dragon’s coming for you,” Lord Leo said to Isatu and the other dragons as they took to the air.
Isatu squealed in delight. She was airborne, following Agubnamus, Akkuggian, Kugkininduseg, Kugimasahalam, and even Gudubennukug. The thunder dragon still felt so guilty about what she did to Kistal, but she was here to fight and serve.
“Destroy them!” Lord Leo commanded and power surged into Isatu.
She squealed in delight as she grew.
Her wings expanded. So did her body. Her neck grew longer and her fingernails grew into claws. She became a dragon soaring in the sky with the others. The ancient dragons grew even larger, their shadow falling on the ground.
The ice dragon hurtling toward them was in for one rude surprise.
“Let me take her!” Isatu cried.
The other dragons roared and peeled away. They were behemoths, but this one ahead was the same size as Isatu. She could take her. Finally, Leo needed her. She was so glad to be summoned by him. She was thrilled to be soaring at the enemy.
Fire exploded from her mouth. Ice from the enemy. Steam erupted where their breaths met. The air boiled as the two dragons crashed together. Isatu’s red form smashed against the white dragon. They spun in the air, tearing at each other, fighting for their builder.
And mine is the best! Isatu thought. Lord Leo was the only one worthy to be her father’s heir. To take up the mantle that the first Dungeon Builder wore and save Isatu’s grandmother.
Queen Puabi needed her to fight hard for Leo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The dragons filled the sky as Mrs. Lucina fired her halo into the stream of monster girls.

There were so many of them. An army of monster girls.

The houris followed, throwing out their light at the monster girls streaming across the ground. Mrs. Lucina cut down hellhounds. Above, Isatu and the ice dragon slammed into each other. Steam burst from their impact.

Mrs. Lucina flew over the monster girls. There were so many of them. She frowned. “This seems like a larger force than Siwang reported,” she sent to Leo and his companions. “This many should have overwhelmed his tower at once.”

The angel did not like this. Something felt off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hagane frowned at Mrs. Lucina’s words.
The animated statue rode on the shoulder of Milzisi, one of the giants. They wadded into the stream of monster girls, slamming their clubs down on them. From this height, Hagane could see across the plains, the thick grass trampled down by the monster girls.
She stared at the hills to the east. A blast of lightning flew past her head. Milzisi slammed her foot down, no doubt killing a score of enemy monster girls. Hagane frowned at the hills. They were swarming with monster girls.
“There might be thousands of them, Leo,” she sent. “There are far more than we thought. This is definitely Wai the Drowner, and I do not think this is a mistake. He could have taken Siwang’s tower with this amount.”
“He had to move them in place?” Nina Naughty suggested. “Or he’s unleashed his reserves.”
“Maybe,” Hagane said, watching the flow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“What if he had another reason to hold them back,” Leo said in not just Nina Naughty’s mind but all of them.

“I don’t like it,” Nina Naughty sent as she and her seraphim burned a squad of oozes and satyrs. The devil flapped her wings and threw another flaming pitchfork, hitting a maenad in the chest.

“Is this a trap?” Hagane asked. “A feint to draw us out?”

“That meant they knew that Siwang and I are allies,” Leo sent. “This tower has only been here a day. And we’re not even close to his territory.”

“We do not know much of Wai the Drowner,” Fara said. “Nor his full capabilities or how far his intelligence gathering reaches.”

“Shit,” growled Leo.

Nina Naughty nodded. This felt off. She threw another flaming pitchfork. The amount of monster girls wasn’t lessening. They were killing them by the scores, but Wai must be recreating them and sending them back into the fight the moment they died.

He had a lot of power to have this many.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We don’t have a choice but to keep fighting,” Crystal sent.
She raced with the jotnar in the wake of the giants, flinging ice daggers into the enemy monster girls. The jotnar summoned their icy weapons and swung them. Monster girls leaped at them, only to be battered by their powerful weapons.
Or cut down by Crystal’s daggers.
“We fight! We crush Wai! He’s a monster! That’s what we do!”
Crystal believed those words as she formed more icy daggers and hurtled them at a satyr rushing at her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“A monster,” Ms. Trueno agreed.

She drew in a deep breath and shouted.

Her thunderous roar hit the group of shesha slithering at her. They all clapped hands over their ears before they died. Explosions burst apart a group of rock elementals, the dullahans galloping into battle throwing their heads as weapons.

The kitsune darted past Ms. Trueno for the battle, their fluffy tails streaming behind them. They were such graceful monster girls. They sang, charming a group of carbuncles. The earth monster girls turned on each other, beams of red flashing from their crystals and killing each other.

Motes danced through the air.

Wai lost monster girls by the dozens. They died so fast, but the hills around them were boiling with more of them. There had to be multiple dungeon entrances. They had to find them and get inside of them. Then they could cut off his reinforcements.

That was how they had to win this. They had to breach his dungeon and cut off his reinforcements. Then it would be a long fight through his dungeon, but if they could establish a beachhead, then they would win the game of attrition.

Three builders—Leo, Siwang, and Munjan—could overwhelm Wai.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We have to find one of the dungeon entrances,” Ms. Trueno sent over the communication.
“Yes,” Mrs. Zoe Baldwin said, nodding in agreement. The dryad was moving behind her hydras. The multi-headed monster girls stood on a large boulder and spat down on the monster girls. She was ready to support them with roots.
“We’ll get to that,” said Leo. “We have to protect Siwang. Wai is trying to take him out first.”
“Wise,” said Hagane.
“We won’t let him hurt Siwang!” Alizee shouted. “Right, team?”
“Right!” Garnet shouted.
Blood rained down on Mrs. Baldwin. She gasped as it splashed her.
Isatu and the ice dragon battled overhead as the other dragons began their attacks on the monster girls. They were massive, belching their breaths of stone or water or thunder on the enemy monster girls. Shadows and stone destroyed them.
“I think the battle is shifting,” said Hagane. “We are taking pressure off Siwang. Let us search for the dungeon.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“I’ll find the entrance!” Alizee squealed with excitement to the others as she soared over the battlefield. “Let’s go Squad Flying Cuties. Let’s go!”

The griffins with her screeched with such fierce love for Leo and soared off. No one could fly faster than them. They headed toward the hills. She chased after them, sending blades of air at a group of pixies. She cut through their wings. They attacked back.

She spun around them with grace and cried, “Go, Team Leo, go!”

She dispatched them.

“Found one!” Manna cried. She was circling over a hill

“One here,” said Nidhanya. She was to the left.

“We have two entrances found,” Alizee reported.

“Found a third,” Simhaya reported. “It’s vomiting monster girls. Ooh!”

Several blasts of red light shot up at her, but Simhaya dodged away.

“We got the entrances, Leo!” Alizee shouted, feeling so good. “We’ll keep them marked. It’ll be tough. They’re just spitting them out. A dozen every second. He must be recreating them as fast as they die.”

“Good job,” Leo said.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Terra believed that they were coming out so fast.
She led her squad of ogresses into the fray. She formed her fists into heavy hammers and barreled into the fray, swinging them into the face of an asura, crushing her head before her flaming swords could strike back.
The ogresses slammed their clubs into the rest of the asuras, turning them into gleaming motes. They swung their clubs, battering a group of sigbins that tried to run in. A group of will o’ wisps took aim, but fire slammed down from above, the seraphim flying over.
Terra slammed her hammer fist into a lemure’s head, killing the Death monster girl. A maenad leaped at her, black hair flowing behind her. The golem slammed both her fists down on her, driving her to the ground in a burst of glitter.
The ogresses swung their clubs, the dragons breathed, monster girls died. They were killing so many, and yet it felt like the flood hadn’t ended. She just kept swinging her fists, fighting for her lover and Siwang.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“For the Dark Lord!” Morana screeched.

Her deathly wail destroyed a group of sarimanoks. They fell to the ground and burst into motes. She laughed as the dullahans threw their heads as they galloped by. Explosion bursts where they hit, the deathly magic ripping through them.

The wind dragon soared over and breathed, her wind flinging thirty or more Level 1 monster girls. She winged by, taking hits from their magic. They were shooting up at her. Morana smiled at that sexy servant of the Dark Lord.

A group of monster girls rushed at her. A shesha spat fire. She ducked, black mist spilling behind her. The banshee wailed, destroying the group of monster girls save the one lemure in their midst. She bounded forward, hissing for Morana.

She jumped to the side only for a blast of lightning from the sky to kill the lemure. She rose and grinned. This was going well. All four of her dullahans were riding about, throwing their skulls and blowing holes into the enemy ranks.

Holes that were instantly filled.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I don’t like this,” Maya sent to her boyfriend. “Not at all. There’s so many, but we’re slaughtering them.”
“I know,” he answered.
Maya was moving with the kappas. They used whips of water rising from their heads and slammed them into enemy monster girls, whipping them. A shadow flashed over the ground. Blood spurted and splashed down on Maya.
In the air, Isatu soared through a large burst of motes. Blood spilled from her wound as the fire dragon roared in triumph. She looked so happy as she swooped over the enemy monster girls, raining more blood on them.
“I killed the dragon, Lord Leo!” squealed Isatu.
“Good job!” Leo answered. “It’s going too well.”
“Maybe for you!” Siwang shouted. “There are a lot in my dungeon! Shit!”
Maya blinked. She could never remember Siwang swearing. She glanced at the tower. A horde of monster girls were flooding into it. They were killing so many, and yet they were getting through. They were focused on killing poor Siwang.
Chapter Fifty-Four
Siwang breathed slowly. They were here. Leo was outside, but that didn’t matter if he didn’t survive these next moments. The words were on his lips as he watched the stairs. He could hear them coming. See their shadows moving.
“Now!” Anji cried.
“Metal missiles fly, let the spikes of Lord Nabu pierce!” Siwang roared.
A barrage of spikes ripped into the lead monster girls and obliterated them before he could even see who they were. Behind them, a wraith appeared, black mist spilling behind her, her eyes blazing with hatred.
“Lightning arcs and sizzles, let the fury of Lord Enlil spread!”
The crackling electricity hit the wraith and shot down the stairs. Monster girls hissed in pain. He readied for the next attack. It was about to come. He rolled his shoulders, his heart pounding in his chest.
He would not fail.
“Can you hold out?” asked Leo.
“I will fight until the end!” Siwang answered before shouting out, “Sunlight explodes, let the radiance of Lord Shamash erupt!”
Blinding Radiance exploded on the next group of monster girls. As the light faded, the motes danced through the air. They fell around in a swirl of motes. Siwang would not go down without a fight. He would murder them all.
“Dragon’s dead,” Leo said. “We control the skies.”
“Storm howls, let the tempest of Lord Anu whirl!”
No time to answer his friend. He sent the air whirling before him and slamming back the monster girls. They screeched and poured out. He had killed dozens, but they were pushing forward now. A mass of monster girls all desperate to get to him.
He shot up into the hole in the ceiling and floated in the air. They filled the lower level. Blasts from will o’ wisps shot up at him along with carbuncle rays. Nagas and sheshas spat poison and fire at him. He dodged them as wraiths started flowing up through the floors and jumping out of the walls at him.
His Void Crystal was hidden. They were focused on him. He swallowed as they were already rushing up the stairs. They would be in this room.
“Flames erupt, let the conflagration of Lord Gibil blaze!”
He filled the lower floor with fire. They died and more came. A wraith lunged for him. He cursed and flew to the side. Five of them were in the room. More were coming up the stairs or flying up through the holes.
He shot for the stairs. He needed room to fight.
He flew out of the ceiling. These were Level 1’s. Not full companions who had more power. He had to believe they wouldn’t find his Void Crystal. He floated over the battlefield. The forces spread out around his tower. Dragons attacked. Monster girls attacked. He could not believe how many of them there were.
Thousands of Level 1’s were flooding the ground.
Siwang had seen nothing like it.
A horde.
How can we defeat so many?
Something blurred out of the corner of his vision. Static Aura discharged. A monster girl burst into motes as he spun in the air. Then he was struck from other angles. Flying monster girls tore through his protection. His armor fell to pieces. Flamebody snuffed out. Granite Flesh cracked.
The attackers swarmed him.
“The breath of death kills, let the exhale of Lord Nergal slay!”
Spectral Breath filled the air around him. He glimpsed one as she died. A monster girl with eagle wings and talons. The enemy had thousands of Level 1 Monster Girls and also possessed Level 4’s. At least one type.
“He has Griffins!” Siwang shouted at Leo as they rushed at him.
The next attacks ripped into his flesh. The stone on his skin burst. His blood spurted through the skies as he spun from the attacks. He felt no pain as they tore him to shreds. Fear clenched down on Siwang’s heart. He was supposed to flee from the safety of his tower.
