It dropped to the floor and scrambled over her bed. Morana sat frozen in terror as it loomed over her. She shook her head, her heart screaming in her chest. It was awful. A soulless monster. Not a beautiful creature of the night.

Not handsome with long, black hair and pale skin. Not a creature of darkness that would carry her off in the night to make her into the queen of the night. This was a twisting of nature. As unnatural as anything could get.
