“We’d love to,” Doroga said, clapping her hands together. The Ice monster girl beamed down at Kassie.

She opened the door to the courtyard of Fort Death. I stepped outside. The land here was still wild. Yellowing grass over uneven ground with snow still existing in spots. It was chilly here. We weren’t that much farther north than my dungeon, but it was much colder here.

I marched over to the entrance to Mr. Lucina’s dungeon. It thrust out of the ground, just a simple stone structure with stairs leading down into the dungeon. I entered it and ran into Mr. Lucina’s lemures. They were prowling around the tunnel.

They all stared at me, their eyes bright.

“Take me to Mr. Lucina,” I declared, not afraid of them at all.

“This way,” one said and scampered ahead of me. She had a cute butt.

Mr. Lucina swallowed. “No, no, that’s not why I’m here. It’s Morana.” He nodded to the dryad who was trembling. She looked… terrified. “When I summoned her, she appeared crying. Scared because… Todlicht attacked her in the real world.”

“What happened?” I asked, my anger evaporating.

I glanced at Mrs. Lucina, the lich version of her. Was this the same fury and hurt Mr. Lucina felt?

“Todlicht attacked your house last night with zombies in the other world,” said Mr. Lucina.

Alt-Hagane nodded. She was so strange with purple skin, though she had on shadowy glasses. Well, the frames. “We won, but he attacked with zombies. Halia defended you.”

Halia was alive in the other world. That sent comfort through me. Then I frowned. “Okay, but how does that relate to Morana? She hasn’t been awakened yet.”

“He came into my bedroom last night and… and…,” Alt-Morana whimpered, her green hair swaying. She had lost something that made her so… Morana in this form. I shrugged. “It’s done. Don’t bring those versions to my dungeon.”

I marched out of the room and down the hall past his lemures. They stared at me with anger. They were not happy with me. I didn’t care. I marched out of the dungeon and into the courtyard. I kept going to Fort Death. The door opened where I found Kassie waiting for me. She hadn’t been distracted.

She arched an eyebrow.

I shook my head, so angry. “Let’s go back to the dungeon.

Maya knew something had hurt Leo the moment he returned.

“And he attacked us with zombies, but Halia held them off,” Leo said.

“Fuck,” Crystal said. “Our house.”

Leo nodded.

Maya tightened her arms around his chest. “And what can we do about that?”

“I don’t know,” he answered, hugging her back. “I don’t think there’s a fucking thing we can do about it. I don’t even know if it matters. It just… Why is he over in the other world unless he can do something to fuck things up.”

“Mr. Lucina is dead in the other world,” Hagane said. “As is Siwang. I do not think if the real you dies, it will affect you. Not since builders appear to be effectively immortal.”

“Then why is he over there to begin with?” Maya demanded, glancing at her.

“Because he can do something else to you,” Hagane said.

“Fuck,” Crystal said.

Maya clung to her boyfriend.

“This is horrible,” said Mrs. Zoe Baldwin.

She had listened to the entire conversation from the kitchen. She stood in the doorway, Maya hugging Leo. Her son was hurt by seeing Maya and Garnet with another man. Of all the women he owned, they were the two he loved the most.

“What can we do about the others?” Mrs. Baldwin asked. “Can we send help to the other world?”

“We have to send word,” said Alizee.

“How?” Crystal asked.

“Women who wake up in the other world seem to know things,” Ms. Trueno said. She marched up. “Wake me up. Then the other me can let the real you know that we know he is in danger.”

Leo shifted. He wanted to hold the Blessed Blade of Thunder back for last since the shrine was beneath his dungeon. He feared the Gods would pull out all the stops when he came close, and that shrine was the most defended by the weight of his dungeon.

“Maybe,” Leo muttered. “Maybe.” He sighed. So much was happening to him. “Should I fuck a goddess while my wife is in bondage?”

“No word?” Maya asked.

“I’d say if there was!” he snapped and ripped from her. He looked so lost. He sagged and sank down onto a couch. “Sorry. It’s just… This is all so fucking much.”

“What does that mean?” Maya asked.

“We won’t be copies forever?” asked Morana.

“That’s wild,” Terra said.

“I think we might merge,” said Nina Naughty. “Leo’s done something. He’s started building the bridge. Things are moving back and forth. I think you should awaken Lady Kittu. The other Leo needs to understand this.”

“Yes,” Mrs. Baldwin said, sitting beside her son. “We need to let the other you know. If we are… going to merge. He has to be ready.”

“He has to survive,” Leo said. “Fara, fetch the Blessed Blade of Thunder.
