Monday, August 7th, 2073 – Chasity “Chase” Glassner – The Sierra Nevada, CA

The sun was hot as I crossed the mountain meadow. One of the cows had broken through the fence and wandered far from the cabin. The long summer had begun drying out the grass, turning greens to golds. I wiped at my brow and scanned the tree line a mile away for the missing heifer with a pair of broken binoculars. One of the lenses was cracked—Rex had dropped it last year—but the other still worked.

Saturday, June 7th, 2054 – Astarte – Paris, Texas

Paris, Texas had been the best place to hide from Mark and Mary. They never suspected when they killed me that I went anywhere other than to the Abyss. I escaped Hell. Instead of plunging back into the Abyss, I was raised by the mayor‘s daughter, Darleen Cummings. She was the idiotic girl the Ghost had sold to me for that wondrous night of debauchery.

The Perfect Slave

June 6th, 2056 – Hikaru Hojou – Kyoto, Far East District

I knelt in my fuku: a plain, white, buttoned-down blouse tucked into a short, red-green tartan skirt. Loose, white socks clung to my ankles.
